Internship Job Description
Namaste Hospice Arts & Event Center is accepting applications on an ongoing basis for internships. Opportunities are available in Marketing /Advertising, Curating, and Event Planning.
The right intern is one who wants to engage community in a grassroots and progressive fashion, change which happens person to person. The qualifications are strong skills in teamwork, organization, and communication. Also, one interested in creating dialog around death and dying, forging bridges between the art community and our dying. An appreciation of art is a plus. Able to understand Namaste Hospice’s mission & ease in communicating it.
Able to take give and take in criticism in a mature fashion. Desire to grow & change in a fast paced environment. Able to contribute to conversations & development about events, art, music, and profit.
Have interest in developing relationships with community members. Also be able to recruit artists in the community. Able to lead artists thru a meeting – understanding the relationship and responsibly on both sides.

Marketing /Advertising
Organize community projects, recruitment, execution & success thereof.
Exceptional communication skills. Natural predisposition toward compassion. Ability to think outside of the box when it comes to community organizing. Interest in bigger thinking & brain storming.
Fundraising. Project management, task research, market research.
Have interest in being part of meetings with community members.
Be willing to contribute to designing flyers & updating website & produce newsletters. Interest in heading out to communicate at public events- with the gallery manager. Also helping with updating advertising on the web. Searching out new & innovative ideas & new websites to link. Work on the excel spreadsheet, data-entry. Able to edit self & others in copy prior to going to print.
Curating
Ability to experiment with viewing art & its wall assemblage. Ability to blend art & education. Taking care of the artist & her/his wishes.
Have interest in traditional & experimental art hanging.
Ability or interest in discussing art & the process of purchasing, & collecting.
Interest in reaching out to the community to recruit artists who align with our mission.
Ability to organize art info, tags, and contracts.
Event Planning
Ability & desire to assist in the planning, research & execution of events.
A personality which suits an event atmosphere.
Able to attend most of the large events through-out the internship.
Ready & enthusiastic, & in clothing which reflects our mission statement.
Work well with a diverse team. Interest in building leadership skills.
